Getting Around Zante

Car Hire, Moped and Quad Bike Hire

Car hire in Zante is a great idea if you are staying in a villa, or if you want to fully explore the island, the third largest in the Ionian Sea. There are many beaches and resorts to be explored along the south and east coasts which you can visit at your own pace in your own car. Some companies will allow you to take your car on the ferry across to Kefalonia and also to mainland Greece to visit Olympia, check this with the car hire company.

Drivers need to be aged 21 and over, although some hire companies may stipulate a minimum age of 23. You must hold a Full Driving Licence issued by any EU country.

Drive on the RIGHT side of the road.

It is also possible to hire mopeds and Quad bikes on the island.

The bus station (KTEL) is situated at the top of the hill, behind the waterfront in Zakynthos town. All buses arrive and depart from here. Bus prices are very reasonable, (between 1 to 3 euro’s per journey, per person), are air-conditioned and travel to the following places on the island:-
